Glossier Boy Brow on Sparse Brow Review
Glossier. Boy.
THOUGHTS ON GLOSSIER
Glossier is a brand that I was a bit unexcited to try for several reasons. One being that their branding is so on point using fresh faced girls that exudes coolness from simplicity - so unlike me. Two, all their make up reminds me of the make up I had when I was 5. Lastly, theres a simple line between no make up make-up and no make up as in bare face. But why the hell do all these girls look like they're wearing no make up at all? no enhanced beauty from make up. Is that their true motive to show that we are truly - in our purest form of face - beautiful without make up? nah.
Anyway, this Boy Brow retails for $16 (get it here) but since they don't ship to Indonesia, I had to resort to online shops. Now, I was apprehensive to try this boy brow because all their ads uses girls with pre-existent magically beautiful shaped eyebrow girls without losing the au naturel feel. Sure I thought, my brows are only 1/10 of what they have so I'm sure I could look like them. Then again, having sparse brows justify me buying different brow products to make them look full and realistic (something the anastasia dipbrow does not necessarily do on sparse brows).
BOY BROW
The boy brow wand is short enough and is packed with enough bristle to coat even my fine, thin and sparse eyebrows. Compared to the Shu Uemura eyebrow manicure, it spreads MUCH better and more evenly. The Shu Uemura tends to clump up and feels like a mascara instead especially with its cumbersome wand. I had to always wipe off the excess!
This one takes enough product, I usually put 2-3 layers and feels like nothing to the touch. Doesn't smudge or gets everywhere (especially on the skin like the shu) just enough to coat the fine hairs. Apparently its made of wax and is inspired by those moustache wax - I'm just hoping they wont clump up by the end of the day.
See the before and after pics after I put it on at around 1 PM before facing the deadly heat of Jakartan Weekend.

FINAL THOUGHTS
After 9 hours of wearing it in hot & humid Jakarta and reminding myself I shouldn't touch my face after I touched it here's what it looks like in room lighting:
see the outer edge on my left brow? it kind of clumps up but thats just probably due to my excessive face touching + my boyfriend. On another note, usually when I wear dipbrows, eyebrow cake or even the shu manicure ones my boyfriend would notice and say "why are you wearing so much make up? we're not going anywhere fancy" oh silly you! I wear make up for myself, not so you will take me anywhere fancy (I silently say). This time though he did not notice. like at all. I mean you saw how brow deprived I am in the before and after pictures right?
Overall, this products lasts a good length of time (maybe even more without the touching) it looks super natural and stays put. No smudging, no staining even though it clumps a little. But hey this is better than most eyebrow mascaras I've tried.
I give it 4.5 out of 5. It's worth it.
